RTVE premieres Canary Island thriller Crossfire, coproduced with the BBC

RTVE in Spain has announced a string of new shows for the upcoming season including Crossfire, a coproduction with the BBC.

Shot and set in a luxurious resort on the Canary Island of Tenerife, the thriller series stars Keeley Hawes and has an international cast including Spaniards Hugo Silva and Alba Brunet.

The drama will premiere on BBC One in the UK on Tuesday September 20. It is produced by Dancing Ledge Productions, created and written by British writer Louise Doughty, and distributed by Fremantle.

The show was announced as part of a gala organised by RTVE this week in Madrid to present its programming for the forthcoming television season.

Other new fiction series that will soon hit the screens of the Spanish public channel are Without Limits (produced by Mono Films, Kilima Media, Fulwell 73), Force of Peace (Alea Media), The Patients of Doctor García (Diagonal TV, DeAPlaneta), The Hunt: Guadiana (DLO Producciones) and the third season of HIT (Grupo Ganga).

In entertainment, news shows announced included El Comodín de La 1, an adaptation of Turkish gameshow Joker by Lavinia; and Incredible Duos, adapted from Chinese show Singing with Legends and produced by Grupo Ganga.
