Propagate takes a swing at production deal with baseball star Mookie Betts

Ben Silverman and Howard T Owens’ studio Propagate has signed a producing deal with Major League Baseball (MLB) star Mookie Betts and his entertainment company One Media/Marketing Group (OMG), which he owns jointly with Derrick Phillips, Cam Lewis and Jeff Mason.

Under the exclusive deal, LA-based Propagate has the right to partner with Betts and OMG as an executive producer on specific unscripted and scripted film, TV and podcast projects. The companies said they already have multiple projects in development through the pact.

Outside of its deal with Propagate, OMG said it is also partnering with producers from across a variety of genres to develop other projects in 2022.

“Mookie Betts is a man of many talents – an All Star baseball player who’s been part of multiple World Series Championship teams, a professional 10-pin bowler, and now a content producer,” said Propagate chairman and co-CEO Silverman and co-CEO Owens.

News of the deal with Betts and OMG comes a week after Propagate revealed it was partnering with NBA player Russell Westbrook’s US prodco Zero World Media to produce a basketball documentary about the Black Fives Era.
