Polsat declares Hunting Season in Poland after picking up Talpa format for TV4

The Polish version of Hunting Season will launch in May

MIPTV: Polsat-owned Polish broadcaster TV4 has commissioned a local version of Talpa’s Dutch adventure gameshow Hunting Season.

The show is based on a successful Dutch YouTube series that was first brought to TV by Talpa-owned network SBS6 in the Netherlands. A second season is set to air on SBS6 this summer, with Amazon’s Prime Video having a next-day second window.

In Poland, 10 episodes will be produced by local outfit Rochstar ahead of a premiere next month.

In each episode of Hunting Season, two celebrities must flee from a team of three prison guards, who are tasked with catching the fugitives within four hours. The fugitives get a 20-minute head start but are dressed in orange prison jumpsuits and have to wear a transmitter that sends their coordinates to the guards every 10 minutes.

The format was originally created by StukTV and Talpa Concepts. It is distributed by Talpa Distribution, which did the deal with Polsat and is shopping the show at MipTV.
