Peacock orders Days of Our Lives spin-off

Long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives

NBCUniversal-owned US streaming service Peacock has ordered a spin-off to long-running classic soap Days of Our Lives.

The show has been aired on NBC since 1965, making it one of the longest running series in the world. The show focuses on plotlines, such as love triangles, in the town of Salem.

The five-episode long limited series Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem reunites classic members of the cast including Lisa Rinna, Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn. In the spin-off, the characters go on holiday to Miami before becoming wrapped up in a treasure hunt.

US prodco Corday Productions, which produces the regular series, is making Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday of Corday exec produces with Albert Alarr.
