Passion agrees Lat Am deals

UK-based Passion Distribution has inked a raft of deals with broadcasters in Latin America, including a wide-ranging package of shows set for broadcast on Brazil’s Globosat.

The Brazilian broadcaster has picked up the US version of Dream School (6×60’) which was originally produced for Sundance Channel, as well as Firelight Productions’ Submarine Patrol (3×60’).

Globosat has also picked up a number of shows produced for The Weather Channel in the US, including Deadliest Space Weather (7×30’), Secrets of the Earth (9×30’) and Pioneer Productions’ Strangest Weather on Earth (12×30’).

Passion has also signed a deal with Brazilian channel Radio e Televisao Record for the free TV rights to the first three seasons of Dynamo: Magician Impossible. The show was originally produced for UKTV’s channel Watch and is now currently airing on BBC1 in the UK.

Also in Brazil, TV Globo has extended the second season of its local version of Worst Driver, called Ruim de Roada, to 14 episodes. The format was originally produced for Channel 5 in the UK and has so far been produced in 17 territories.

Elsewhere Televisa Networks in Mexico has agreed to extend its output deal with Passion, which has licenced over 360 hours of lifestyle content to the network over the past three years.

Finally Chello Latin America has picked up over 85 hours of Passion content including Living Abroad (13×30’) and International open House (8×30’) and Deliver Me (10×60’).
