Paramount promotes distribution exec

Paramount Pictures has upped television licensing president Dan Cohen to a senior global sales role as part of a rejig of its distribution execs.

Cohen has been promoted to president of worldwide home entertainment and television distribution, filling the role previously held by Mary Daily, who was made co-president of worldwide theatrical marketing and distribution earlier this month.

Cohen, who joined Paramount in 2017, previously spent 20 years at Disney/ABC, latterly serving as executive VP of pay television and digital for home entertainment and television distribution for The Walt Disney Studios.

Bob Buchi, currently president of worldwide home entertainment at Paramount, will continue in his role, reporting to Cohen.

Andrew Gumpert, Paramount’s chief operating officer, said Cohen was an “indispensable leader” in licensing, both for the company and the wider industry.
