The 6×60’ drama series will be made by Sony Pictures Television-backed prodco Eleventh Hour Films (Rebus) and distributed internationally by Sony.

It was ordered by Paul Testar, commissioning editor for drama at Channel 5 and Paramount+, and Sebastian Cardwell, deputy chief content officer for the UK at Paramount. The executive producers are Eleventh Hour’s Paula Cuddy, Eve Gutierrez and Jill Green.

Scheduled to start filming in the UK next year, The Killing Kind tells the story of ambitious barrister Ingrid Lewis, who grows too close to a dangerous client accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend.

“This will be must-see popcorn event TV,” said Cuddy and Gutierrez in a statement.

The Killing Kind is part of Paramount+’s plan to commission 150 international originals by 2025, joining projects such as A Gentleman in Moscow, Sexy Beast and The Flatshare.
