Objective Media Group heads into The Unknown with Netherlands’ IDTV

The Traitors premiered on Dutch broadcaster RTL4

Dutch prodco IDTV, creator of format The Traitors, has partnered with All3Media’s Objective Media Group for US and UK versions of its new psychological social experiment The Unknown.

IDTV and Objective are meeting with US networks to pitch the format this week, while distribution arm All3Media International will take the show out to the global market at Mipcom in Cannes next month.

The companies remain cagey about the format’s exact details, simply saying: “In line with its title, little is officially known about The Unknown format.”

The Traitors, which is also distributed by All3Media International, has so far had 11 commissions in its first 11 months, with the US and UK series due to launch soon. The French version was M6’s best launch for an entertainment format since Big Brother in 2001 and has already been recommissioned.

“IDTV is focused on the development and realisation of new psychological adventure reality formats. We wanted to work with Objective Media Group because of their international experience and likeminded approach to making good content. We’re happy to have now partnered to bring our new project The Unknown to the UK and US with them,” said Marc Pos, CEO at IDTV.
