Nine Oz casts spell on gameshow

Australia’s Nine Network has commissioned a comedy gameshow/quiz based on a UK format in which contestants are hypnotised.

Produced by FremantleMedia Australia (FMA), You’re Back in the Room will feature Irish-born hypnotist Keith Barry, who starred in ITV’s original version.

In the format created by UK indie Tuesday’s Child, five strangers take part in a series of simple games for a cash prize while hypnotised. The four-part UK version launched in March, hosted by Phillip Schofield.

Nine has not revealed the host or the number of episodes but filming is set to start in Sydney for a week on August 25.

FMA will hold auditions in Sydney and Brisbane in July.
