The band, formed in 1978 by Per Gessle, Mats Persson, Micke Andersson, Anders Herrlin and Göran Fritzon, is collaborating with Nevis on a biopic about how the band captured the hearts of the Swedish nation.

The project, which represents Nevis’s first feature film, will be penned by Swedish scriptwriter Pernilla Oljelund (Miss Friman’s War, Wallander, The Restaurant).

Filming is scheduled to begin in 2022, with Nevis principals and founders Anni Faurbye Fernandez, Moa Westeson and Cindy Hanson producing.

The biopic charts the story of how the group overcomes ridicule, rejection and tragic events to achieve success. It has been commissioned as several members of Gyllene Tider plan to go on reunion tours.

Nevis, backed by London-based Nevision, was launched in 2020 and has offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen and London.
