Netflix to end Trinkets with second run

Trinkets is based on Kirsten Smith’s novel

Streaming giant Netflix has ordered a second and final season of teen drama Trinkets from Viacom-owned prodco AwesomenessTV.

Based on the young-adult novel of the same name by Kirsten Smith, Trinkets follows three teenage girls from different high-school social groups who form an unlikely friendship when they each find themselves in the same shoplifters anonymous meeting.

Exec produced and written by Smith, Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer, and also exec produced by Shelley Zimmerman, Brin Lukens and Rebecca Glashow, the first season debuted on Netflix last month.

Sarah Goldfinger (Charmed) will join the second and final 10×30′ season, due to air next year, as showrunner.
