Movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World was released in 2010

Netflix has commissioned an anime series based on the Scott Pilgrim comic books, with the project set to reunite several of those involved in the property’s 2010 movie adaptation, Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

The still-untitled project comes from Universal Studio Group’s UCP, with Bryan Lee O’Malley, the Canadian author and artist of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series, and BenDavid Grabinski (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Happily), serving as executive producers, writers and showrunners.

Edgar Wright, who directed, co-wrote and produced the film adaptation, is also an executive producer, while Abel Gongora is director. Japanese animation house Science SARU (Devilman Crybaby, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) serves as the animation studio.

The cast includes Michael Cera, Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza and Brandon Routh, all of whom appeared in the Scott Pilgrim movie.

Other executive producers on the anime series include: Marc Platt Productions’ Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff and Adam Siegel; Complete Fiction’s Edgar Wright and Nira Park; Science SARU’s Eunyoung Choi; and Michael Bacall.
