NENT unveils English-language film plan

Nordic Entertainment (NENT) Group is planning to produce two English-language films about significant Nordic figures every year.

The first film from this project is Hilma, a biopic of revolutionary Swedish artist and feminist pioneer Hilma af Klint, written and directed by Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, My Life as a Dog) and starring Lena Olin (Enemies, A Love Story).

Executive produced by Josephine Zapata Genetay and produced by Helena Danielsson, Hilma will premiere exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service in 2022.

Anders Jensen, NENT Group president and CEO, said: “The impact that women and men from the small countries in the Nordics have had on the world is nothing less than extraordinary. Many are, of course, very well known, but others are less known or even almost unknown. We want to share these stories with the world and hopefully find new perspectives that will both enlighten and entertain.”
