NBCU’s Baker moves to BBCWW

An executive from NBCUniversal (NBCU) has joined BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) as part of the company’s efforts to expand its formats business.

Anaïs Baker

Anaïs Baker has been named exec producer for entertainment, factual entertainment and formats, reporting to the genres’ director at BBCWW, Tracy Forsyth.

She joins from NBCU International Formats, where she worked on formats including Hollywood Game Night.

Her new remit includes overseeing the development of IP, working with Sumi Connock, who joined BBCWW from ITV as creative director of formats last year.

She will also work across returning factual entertainment formats for BBCWW’s international networks, as well as revamping existing shows in its catalogue.

Forsyth said Baker’s “experience in international format production, coupled with her skill in developing factual entertainment and entertainment formats for the global market will allow us to grow our portfolio of compelling formats and IP.”

Baker’s arrival follows last year’s restructure at BBCWW’s formats operation, as first reported by C21. The organisation appointed two execs to create new investment partnerships and develop IP for broadcasters, streamers and social media services.
