NBC cancels SNL star’s comedy Kenan, dramas The Endgame, Mr Mayor

Kenan Thompson stars in comedy Kenan

US broadcaster NBC has cancelled heist drama The Endgame after one season, as well as comedy Kenan, fronted by Saturday Night Live (SNL) star Kenan Thompson, and Ted Danson-starring drama Mr Mayor after two seasons.

The Endgame stars Morena Baccarin (Deadpool) as Elena Federova, a very recently captured international arms dealer and criminal mastermind who even in captivity orchestrates a number of coordinated bank heists, and Val Turner – the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent who will stop at nothing to foil her ambitious plan.

The drama is produced by Universal Television, with Nicholas Wootton Productions, Jake Coburn Productions, Inc, My So-Called Company and Perfect Storm Entertainment.

Kenan, which is produced by Universal Television in association with Broadway Video, is about the busy life of a single dad (Thompson), who is juggling a high-profile job as the host of a morning show with raising two pre-teen daughters.

Mr Mayor is produced by Universal Television, Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts Entertainment. It follows a retired businessman (Danson) who runs for mayor of Los Angeles to prove he’s still got it. The series also stars Holly Hunter.
