Amp’d is the debut novel by Emmy-nominated screenwriter and author Ken Pisani, who is adapting the book for the screen with Muse.

The plot centres on Aaron, whose life is derailed after a car accident leads to the amputation of his left arm. Faced with a chance to become a better man after a failed marriage, Aaron choses a life of medication and marijuana instead.

Psani is co-writing a feature about the Rwandan cycling team with Oscar-winner David Seidler (The King’s Speech) and also recently published graphic novel Colonus with Dark Horse Comics.

Muse USA president and executive producer Joel S Rice said: “It’s important to Muse to find points of view that haven’t been seen before on television.

“Amp’d is a relatable story about feeling incomplete in this world – both figuratively and literally. But Ken reminds us that even when everything in life has gone to hell, there are still plenty of reasons to laugh.”

Rice and Muse Entertainment’s Michael Prupas will executive produce.

Muse is currently in post-production with miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot for Reelz in the US, while mystery thriller Bellevue, for Canadian pubcaster CBC, began filming last month.
