MRC boards Le Train Train deal

Ozark is produced by MRC

The US producer behind Netflix’s House of Cards has agreed a first-look production deal with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s company Le Train Train Productions.

The arrangement will see the duo creating, developing and executive producing new TV projects for MRC, which is also behind Ozark on streamer Netflix and Counterpart on US cablenet Starz.

Jones most recently directed the forthcoming Netflix documentary Quincy for Le Train Train, which has also appointed Nishika Kumble as its head of development.

Jones will also continue to produce and star in TBS show Angie Tribeca, which will move into its fourth season later this year.

McCormack’s output includes writing Frenemy of the State and he will continue to serve as executive producer with Jones on TNT series Claws.

MRC, headed by co-CEOs Asif Satchu and Modi Wiczyk, was one of the first companies to produce for Netflix, adapting BBC political drama House of Cards for the streamer in 2013.

Earlier this year, Satchu and Wiczyk were named heads of Valence Media, which combined companies owned by Eldridge Industries including MRC, Golden Globe Awards producer Dick Clark Productions and the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group.
