Moonscoop scores MBC deal

French animation group Moonscoop has inked a four-series package deal with Middle Eastern broadcaster MBC, which includes new Asian coproduction Tara Duncan.

The network has taken new animated series Zevo-3 (26×30′), Gasp! (52×11′), The DaVincibles (52×11′) and Tara Duncan (26×30′) from Moonscoop’s distribution slate for its free kids TV channel MBC3.

Zevo-3 was produced by Moonscoop for Sketchers Entertainment, while Gasp! was produced by SLR Productions, in association with Screen Australia, ABC Kids, Agogo and Moonscoop.

Tara Duncan, a new toon for eight- to 12-year-olds, was coproduced by Moonscoop and India’s DQ Entertainment in collaboration with broadcasters Disney Channel and France’s M6.

The fantasy animation is based on seven novels written by Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian, which have become best-sellers across continental Europe, Japan, Korea, Romania, Bulgaria and Thailand, according to Moonscoop.
