The Mash Report revived by UKTV’s Dave as Late Night Mash

Multichannel broadcaster UKTV has greenlit a reboot of BBC satirical news series The Mash Report for comedy entertainment channel Dave.

Produced by Zeppotron and made with The Daily Mash website, Late Night Mash (9×60′) will feature original host Nish Kumar and fellow The Mash Report alumni Rachel Parris and Ellie Taylor as they tap into the zeitgeist with topical insights and fake news reports.

The executive producers for Zeppotron are Chris Stott, the creator and showrunner of Late Night Mash and The Mash Report, alongside Ruth Phillips and Peter Holmes.

The Mash Report was first broadcast on the BBC in 2017 and was cancelled in March after four seasons. The UK pubcaster said the series was axed “in order to make room for new comedy shows.”

Dave channel director Cherie Cunningham said: “Dave viewers love nothing more than the quick wit of the best comedians in the country and I know the topical nature of this show will really resonate as we watch Nish and the team grapple with the latest sensations, headlines and online chatter.”
