Markle out at CBC Kids

Martin Markle, the CBC’s senior director of children’s content, has left the Canadian public broadcaster.

Markle, who was still at the CBC as recently as last Monday (August 8), is no longer with the pubcaster, a spokesperson told C21.

The rep declined to comment on the reason for his departure, but said a replacement would be named within the next few months.

Markle’s exit comes less than a year after he rejoined the CBC in September 2015, replacing the departure of kids content chief Kim Wilson. Markle served as the CBC’s exec in charge of production for the children’s and youth department from 2003 to 2006, before leaving to run his own prodco, Markle Productions.
