Irish animation specialist Lighthouse Studios has promoted its showrunner and director Gilly Fogg to head creative.

In the new role, Fogg has creative oversight of the studio’s original IP development and service project slates.

Fogg joined Lighthouse as studio series director when it first launched in 2017, before being promoted to showrunner.

Her credits from her time at the company include Amazon Prime original Big Diaries and forthcoming Netflix series The Cuphead Show.

Fogg is also directing a yet-to-be-announced miniseries for one of the global streamers and is working on the studio’s first adult IP, an animated crime drama loosely based on real events at the turn of the millennium in Ireland.

Previously, Fogg spent eight years at HIT Entertainment, starting as a stop-motion animator and then working as an episodic director for hit series Bob the Builder.

Lighthouse MD Claire Finn said: “Since taking the reins of the studio in 2018, I am proud of the level of talent we have attracted and the culture we have created that gives our team the environment to thrive, and Gilly has played a huge role in taking Lighthouse to the next level.”
