HGTV commissions Critical Content to construct more Cheap Old Houses

Cheap Old Houses is fronted by Elizabeth and Ethan Finkelstein

Warner Bros Discovery-owned cablenet HGTV has ordered another season of Cheap Old Houses, its home-improvement series produced by SK Global-owned US production company Critical Content.

The eight-part series follows Ethan and Elizabeth Finkelstein as they help people in New England buy, preserve and restore new houses.

The project will change its name for the forthcoming season, with HGTV inviting fans to vote on a new title via social media.

Set to debut in spring 2024, the new episodes will feature designer Jennifer Salvemini and architectural designer Scott Reed.

Critical Content, which is behind series including MTV’s Catfish, is producing the show in association with Roberts Media.
