Hathaway, Leto join Apple TV+ drama

Apple TV+ has ordered a limited drama series starring Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto based on podcast WeCrashed: The Rise & Fall of WeWork.

The podcast follows the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of real estate start-up WeWork, which was founded in 2010 to provide flexible shared workspaces for new companies. In the following years, WeWork lost billions and failed with its IPO in 2019.

The TV adaptation, titled WeCrashed, is created and written by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello and produced by Apple Studios, with John Requa and Glenn Ficarra directing.

As well as starring in the series, Hathaway and Leto will exec produce with Requa, Ficarra, Eisenberg, Crevello, Charlie Gogolak and Natalie Sandy. Emma Ludbrook will also exec produce alongside Leto through their prodco Paradox.

Podcast network Wondery, which produced the original podcast, is also exec producing.
