Game Show Network restarts Chain Reaction

Dylan Lane will return as the host of Chain Reaction

US cablenet Game Show Network (GSN) has greenlit a new edition of classic word-association gameshow Chain Reaction.

The original series of Chain Reaction first hit screens in the US back in 1980 on NBC, before being rebooted for USA Network from 1986 to 1991.

GSN picked up a third version of the format, which ran from 2006 until 2007, before it was rebooted again for the channel in 2015-2016.

The fifth edition of Chain Reaction will premiere on GSN in early 2021, with Dylan Lane hosting. Lane previously presented the third version of the show in 2006-2007.

The half-hour gameshow sees two teams compete against each other to complete chains of words for a cash prize.

Originally produced by Sony Pictures Television, the latest iteration of Chain Reaction will be produced by Game Show Enterprises.

Exec producing are Mike Richards and Ed Egan, with Egan also serving as showrunner.
