Facebook watches Steve Harvey again

The new season of Steve on Watch will be shot with a virtual audience

Facebook’s VoD service Facebook Watch has ordered a second run of Steve on Watch, the talkshow fronted by Steve Harvey.

Season one premiered on the platform in January last year, drawing in more than 55 million views. Facebook acquired the format in 2019 after Harvey’s talk show Steve was cancelled by NBC.

The forthcoming series, filmed in front of a virtual audience, is produced by Harvey’s prodco East 112 and LA prodco Film 45. Guests will include US actor Gabrielle Union, basketball player Stephen Curry and comedian Keenan Thompson.

Harvey, also known for hosting Family Feud, will exec produce the series along with Brandon Williams, Christel Sice, Michael Antinoro and Ianthe Jones, who also joins as showrunner.

Facebook Watch recently ordered another celebrity-driven format, renewing documentary series 9 Months With Courtney Cox for a third season.
