Pancho Mansfield becomes president of global scripted programming for eOne Television and will oversee its original scripted slate and manage the firm’s development projects and productions around the world.

He will work with writers, directors, producers and talent to lead creative and strategic planning for the division, operating across US scripted development, led by Gerard Bocaccio, and global production, headed up by Carrie Stein.

Mansfield, who will be based in LA, joins eOne having been an exec producer on A&E’s upcoming horror series Damien and USA Network’s telenovela adaptation Queen of the South.

Before that he was senior VP of programming at Fox Television Studios for seven years, where he oversaw original scripted series including Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll for FX and Sirens for USA, and has also worked for Spike TV and Showtime Networks.

John Morayniss, CEO of eOne Television, said Mansfield had “wide-ranging experience and relationships with the creative and broadcast communities in the US” that will “take our original scripted activities to the next level.”

“With teams on the ground in key English-language hubs and beyond, we are well-positioned to deliver more compelling content to US and worldwide audiences.”

eOne TV is attempting to double in size over the next five years and has been expanding operations recently. It promoted chief operating officer Margaret O’Brien to oversee the company’s burgeoning M&A activity, extended Morayniss’s contract and bolstered its European sales team.

The company’s TV portfolio contains more than 35 series, including Book of Negroes, The Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels and Rookie Blue. The firm has also been busy in the M&A department, acquiring a majority stake in The Mark Gordon Company, the US producer behind Grey’s Anatomy and Ray Donovan, for US$132.6m last year.
