Discovery Latin America, NRK Norway take children’s series from Sinking Ship

The Unlisted has been picked up by Ypsilon and E-Vision

Discovery Latin America and NRK in Norway are among the international broadcasters to have picked up shows from Toronto-based kids’ producer and distributor Sinking Ship Entertainment (SSE).

Both broadcasters have acquired UK pubcaster the BBC’s recent reboot of The Demon Headmaster, while tween mystery series The Unlisted has been sold to Ypsilon in Spain and E-Vision across the Middle East and North Africa.

Elsewhere, TFO in Canada has licensed season one of Odd Squad, a live-action comedy about kid agents who work for a secret government agency run by children, and seasons one and two of science-focused series Annedroids.

Finally, broadcasters including the BBC and Australian pubcaster the ABC have acquired the newest seasons of Odd Squad, while the second season of Endlings has been picked up by ABC and Canal+ in France.

Kate Sanagan, co-head of sales and distribution at SSE, said: “Our team has had a busy few months, as the international appetite for premium kids’ content continues to grow.

“Many of the deals we are closing now have resulted from our robust windowing strategies, and we anticipate that will only grow as the VoD market continues to gain momentum internationally.”
