De Rijk sticks with Red Arrow

Red Arrow Entertainment Group and Dutch format developer Dick de Rijk have extended their partnership, which spawned one of this year’s biggest hits, You Deserve It.

The “multi-year” agreement continues to give Red Arrow exclusive exploitation and distribution rights to de Rijk’s formats.

Additionally, the former Endemol formats creator, best known for Deal or No Deal, will continue to aid Red Arrow and its distribution house SevenOne International in pitching and creative consultancy.

The pair joined forces in 2009 through Red Arrow parent ProSiebenSat.1 and this year launched emotionally charged gameshow You Deserve It, which distributor SevenOne International claims has been sold into 28 countries. Buyers include ABC in the US and Antena 3 in Spain.

“I have worked intensively with Dick de Rijk over the past one-and-a-half years and after 22 years in the TV business, I struggle to name another talent who can create so many ideas and with such hit potential,” said Red Arrow’s group director of creative operations and business development Michael Schmidt.

The executive predicted de Rijk would make a “crucial contribution to the future growth of Red Arrow.”

Earlier this month, the firm appointed ProSiebenSat.1’s Nina Etspüler to focus on format development.
