Kaspar Pflüger is leaving his role as country director for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) at Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service after just six months.

Pflüger first took office on April 25 but is now leaving having only appeared a month ago to promote the streaming service’s new slate of German originals.

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the news, saying he had left to pursue other opportunities. “We wish him all the best for the future,” the spokesperson said.

Pflüger added: “It was an exciting and impressive time, and I am grateful for the warm welcome I received from my German and international colleagues.”

Before Prime Video, Pflüger was head of ProSiebenSat.1 and worked for RTL Group for several years. His responsibilities at Prime Video will be taken over by Philip Pratt, head of German originals, and Christoph Schneider, who was head of content for the DACH region before Pflüger.

The move follows the departure of head of European originals Georgie Brown after five years.
