Coogan returns to Mid Morning Matters

UK pay TV network Sky Atlantic has ordered a new season of actor Steve Coogan’s Mid Morning Matters, with the show’s second run being made specifically for the BSkyB-owned channel.

The six-part mockumentary features Coogan’s DJ character Alan Partridge and is slated to air next year. The show will be written by Neil Gibbons, Rob Gibbons and Coogan, whose Baby Cow Productions will produce.

A one-off “hard-hitting documentary special” has also been ordered by Sky.

Sky aired the first season of Mid Morning Matters in 2013, with the show originally funded by a beer brand and appearing on YouTube, before subsequently being turned into a TV show.
