CNBC unveils primetime line-up
US business network CNBC has unveiled a raft of new and returning series for primetime, as well as revealing details of seven new projects in development.
Jay Leno’s Garage
New originals include BYOB: Be Your Own Boss, Staten Island Hustle and Deadly Rich, while returning to the network are American Greed, Secret Lives of the Super Rich and Jay Leno’s Garage.
BYOB: Be Your Own Boss sees self-made millionaire and small-business expert Dennis Mulgannon help people realise their professional dreams by investing in small firms.
The show is produced by US indie Brian Graden Media with Brian Graden and Dave Mace as executive producers. Jim Ackerman and Marshall Eisen are the executive producers for CNBC and the programme airs on February 27 at 22.00 ET/PT.
Staten Island Hustle follows a group of businessmen seeking an idea to invest in. The show is produced by Left Hook Media and Endemol Shine North America with Scott Teti, Matt Odgers and Robin Feinberg as executive producers. Jim Ackerman and Marshall Eisen are the exec producers for CNBC and the show will air in the spring.
Deadly Rich takes viewers inside murder cases involving the super-rich. Produced for CNBC by US indie Kurtis Productions with Mike West and Tania Lindsay as exec producers, the show will air in the summer. Charles Schaeffer is the exec producer for CNBC.
Returning to the network this year is season 12 of American Greed, which premieres on Monday February 26 at 22.00 ET/PT. The show is also produced by Kurtis Productions with West as exec producer and Schaeffer as exec producer for CNBC. The true crime series examines the dark side of the American Dream.
The seventh season of Secret Lives of the Super Rich is also set to return this spring. Scott Matthews and Ray Parisi will act as executive producers for CNBC.
Jay Leno’s Garage, which features stunts, reviews, celebrity interviews and challenges, will return for a fourth season in the spring. The show is produced by FremantleMedia’s Original Productions and Kitten Kaboodle, with Jay Leno, Sarah Whalen, Jeff Bumgarner and Ernie Avila exec producing. Abby Schwarzwalder serves as co-exec producer for the series and Jim Ackerman and Adam Barry are exec producers for CNBC.
CNBC has also announced it is developing seven series currently with working titles. These include Aaron Kirman Project, produced by Authentic Entertainment; Cash Pad, produced by Electus; Billions By Design, produced by Sharp Entertainment; and American Hustler, from Renegade 83 Entertainment.
Also on the development slate are Million Dollar Judgement, produced by Sirens Media and EGTV; Sex & Business, produced by Intellectual Property Corporation; and Teen Entrepreneur, produced by 11th Street Productions.
