US streaming company Cineverse, previously known as Cinedigm, has rejigged its leadership structure, promoting Erick Opeka to president and Tony Huidor to chief operating officer.

Opeka will retain his existing responsibilities as chief strategy officer while taking on his new role. He will oversee Cineverse’s portfolio of more than 20 SVoD, AVoD and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels, as well as pursue merger and acquisition opportunities.

Huidor’s expanded role will see him continue as chief technology officer as well as overseeing product strategy and explore opportunities in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Cineverse has also named Mark Torres as chief people officer, overseeing human resource functions, global people strategy and operations.

Those remaining in their current positions include chief content officer Yolanda Macias, chief financial officer John Canning and chief legal officer Gary Loffredo.

Cinedigm recently rebranded as Cineverse having shifted over the past decade from a cinema technology company to a distributor and digital channels operator.

“These promotions reflect Cineverse’s continued evolution from a digital cinema company to a global streaming and technology company at scale. With these changes, we have realigned our leadership to best drive the company forward as we focus on building one of the largest and most diverse libraries in the industry,” said Chris McGurk, chairman and CEO of Cineverse.
