CBS’s Wiley to depart

CBS in the US is facing its second senior exec departure within a week, with current programming head Bridge Wiley set to follow entertainment president Glenn Geller out of the door.

The news that Wiley, who has been with CBS for more than 12 years, will leave comes after Tuesday’s announcement of Geller’s departure.

Wiley has overseen current programming at CBS Entertainment and its studio division since 2015, taking up her role at the same time as Geller was promoted to entertainment president.

She had been VP at CBS since 2005, before being promoted to senior VP of current programming in 2013, and worked for 20th Century Fox prior to that. Her next role is not yet known.

Geller, who reportedly suffered a mild heart attack in March, stepped down after two years as president at CBS Entertainment and is now in discussions over a production deal with CBS Television Studios.

He has been replaced by Kelly Kahl, a 20-year veteran of the broadcaster who has worked on shows including Survivor, CSI and The Good Wife. CBS has also drafted in The CW’s Thom Sherman, who was named senior exec VP of programming at CBS Entertainment.
