Catalonia’s TV3 takes Onliners & Old Timers

The Catalonian version of Onliners & Old Timers format will be produced by Gestmusic

Catalonian broadcaster TV3 has picked up Banijay format Onliners & Old Timers for local adaptation.

The format, which was originally produced by Banijay UK’s Princess Productions for ITV, is a social experiment in which tech-savvy millennials are paired with older technophobes who they attempt to teach how to navigate the online world.

TV3’s adaptation, titled Canvi de Xip, will be produced by Banijay Iberia’s Gestmusic in collaboration with the Catalan Ministry of Culture.

Tinet Rubira, MD of Gestmusic, said: “To Millennials, the internet is a part of their daily routine as much as brushing their teeth, but it is not always a simple task to show the older generation how easy it can be to use technology. Funny, touching and revealing, this format sees cross-generational cooperation at its best.”

Onliners & Old Timers has also been adapted by Endemol Shine Finland for Finnish broadcaster YLE TV1.
