Carter opens new X-Files

The X-Files creator Chris Carter is returning to television with a new supernatural drama to be produced by Georgeville Television (GVTV).

The After, written by Carter, tells the story of a mysterious event featuring themes of science-fiction, suspense and paranoia. No broadcaster has been announced.

Marc Rosen, GVTV CEO, said the series “is going to be a fantastic ride – one that only Chris could conceive – and the secrets, twists, and turns are a fan’s dream. Chris has woven his mythology magic within a very human, grounded story about the moment when we realise all of our worst fears about the world and its future.”

Sierra/Engine Television will be shopping The After to international buyers at Mipcom.

GVTV is also behind the remake of UK sci-fi series Blake’s 7 for US cable network Syfy, as well as Sense8, which is the television series debut for the Wachowski’s (The Matrix).
