Candle Media-backed Faraway Road brings in former Armoza, Keshet execs

Israeli production outfit Faraway Road Productions has hired former Armoza Formats and Keshet Studios execs as it expands its senior team following its acquisition by Candle Media at the turn of the year.

Faraway Road appointed Salome Peillon, former head of international sales at ITV-owned Armoza Formats, as its chief operating officer. She will oversee the studio’s global operation.

The prodco also named Adi Ezroni, most recently co-head of features and VP of television at Keshet Studios, as its executive VP of content. Ezroni will oversee creative development and production for Faraway Road’s film and TV output.

Faraway Road, which has offices in Tel Aviv and LA, was acquired by Candle Media around eight months ago.

Candle Media, led by former Disney execs Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs and backed by private equity firm Blackstone Group, has made a splash with several high-profile deals over the past year, including acquisitions of Hello Sunshine, Moonbug Entertainment and Exile Content Studio.

Led by co-CEOs Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, Faraway Road is behind series including Fauda, which airs on Yes in Israel and on Netflix internationally. Season four of the action-thriller series is set to launch shortly.

“With the recent acquisition by Candle Media and the robust slate of projects in development and production, I am excited to work with the team on growing our offices, positioning the company across multiple international markets and collaborating with creative partners to bring unique voices to the screen,” said Peillon.

Ezroni added: “I’m thrilled to join the Faraway creative engine. The opportunity to work with Avi, Lior, Kevin and Tom is incredibly energising. I look forward to establishing ourselves as the ‘go to’ for propulsive, character-driven content and as a beacon for authentic storytellers.”
