Canale 5 commissions four-part drama series from Endemol Shine Italy

Mediaset-owned Italian network Canale 5 has commissioned a four-part drama from Endemol Shine Italy.

Anima Gemella (Soul Sister, working title) is being produced alongside Mediaset’s RTI. Directed by Francesco Miccichè, it stars Daniele Liotti (The Fugitive, The Inquiry) and Chiara Masatalli (The Night Before the Exams, Rome).

The series follows a widower on the brink of proposing to his new partner until she is embodied by his deceased wife during a séance, making him question everything.

The cast also includes Stefania Rocca, Barbara Bouchet, Alice Torriani, Alice Mangione, Matteo Sintucci, Davide Iacopini, Valentina Corti and Roberto Accornero.

Anima Gemella is supported by the Film Commission Torino Piemonte. The drama joins a scripted slate from Banijay-owned Endemol Shine Italy that also includes The Bride (La Sposa).
