C4 tucks into new food series

The UK’s Channel 4 has commissioned one new food series and renewed another.

Pasta (working title) is a series focusing on Italian cooking with new Welsh-born Italian television chef Michela Chiappa.

The 4×30′ series is being produced by Jamie Oliver’s Fresh One Productions, executive produced by Zoe Collins. It was commissioned by Kate Techman, C4’s commissioning editor for features.

The commercial broadcaster is also returning The Fabulous Baker Brothers: Cooking for Britain to screens for a 6×60′ series produced by Discovery-owned prodco Betty and executive produced by Neil Smith.

Both series will air on C4 later this year.

Last week, C21 revealed that C4 is planning a 25-part daytime cookery series with chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and indie Keo Films.

Keo is also returning Fearnley-Whittingstall’s campaigning series Fish Fight to the C4 schedule later this year.
