Channel 4 orders Genevieve Barr mystery thriller, brings Hullraisers back for S2

UK commercially funded public broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a mystery thriller series from actor and writer Genevieve Barr (The Silence, The Accident) and ordered a second season of comedy Hullraisers, set in the city of Hull.

Produced by Sex Education prodco Eleven, ID (working title) centres on a young deaf woman who witnesses a neighbour taking pictures of her.

This leads her to explore what she might have done to warrant this unwanted attention, while simultaneously beginning a dance with a stranger that is as exhilarating as it is dangerous.

The 8×30’ series is exec produced by Jack Thorne and Eleven’s creative directors Carissa Hope Lynch and Joel Wilson. Sony Pictures Television is distributing worldwide.

Hullraisers, meanwhile, debuted on Channel 4 in April and is based on Israeli show Little Mom. Lucy Beaumont adapted the series for the UK, with Fable Pictures producing.
