Boxfish TV to adapt BBC’s gameshow format Bridge of Lies for Spain’s RTVE

The UK celebrity version of Bridge of Lies

Spainish broadcaster RTVE will premiere a local adaptation of British gameshow format Bridge of Lies this summer, following its renewal for a third season by BBC One in the UK.

The Spanish show, titled El Puente de las Mentiras, will be produced by Boxfish TV and launches on RTVE-owned La 1 in July. The news was first reported by El Televisero.

In Bridge of Lies, different teams compete for a cash prize and must cross a bridge made up of steps on the studio floor. Each rung hides different answers, some of which are true and some of which are lies. To win they must reach the other side through a ‘bridge’ of true answers.

Two versions of Bridge of Lies air on BBC One in the UK, one in primetime with celebrities and the other daily with unknown contestants both produced by STV Studios. BBC Studios distributes the format internationally.

The Spanish version, which will feature celebrities, will be presented by Paula Vázquez, who has just presented the Spanish version of Celebrity Bake Off for Amazon’s Prime Video.
