BBC Asia deal for Engineering Reborn among multiple Passion sales in region

Art That Made Us has been picked up by Yoon & Company in Korea

BBC Asia has picked up Engineering Reborn, an 8×60’ documentary series made by London-based prodco Pioneer Productions, in a deal with Passion Distribution.

The sale is one of several deals in Asia that Tinopolis Group-owned Passion has announced ahead of this week’s Asia Television Forum (ATF) in Singapore.

Passion has also licensed Art That Made Us, an 8×60′ series that tells the history of Britain through art, to Yoon & Company in Korea, plus one-off doc Stacey Dooley: Inside the Convent to Japanese pubcaster NHK.

In addition, China’s Legend Media has ordered a package of factual programming, comprising Surviving the Stone Age, a 3×60’ series made by Renegade Pictures and Motion Content Group; 4×60’ nuclear power-focused series Surviving the Stone Age, from Australian prodco Wild Bear Entertainment; and 8×60’ espionage series Black Files: Declassified (S2).

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Mi Media has licensed two seasons of supernatural doc Help! My House is Haunted; Pet TV has acquired S7 of Dog Rescuers and Animal 24:7; and Singapore’s MediaCorp has picked up seasons five and six of Weather Gone Viral.

At ATF, London-based Passion Distribution will shop Dinosaur with Stephen Fry (4×60’), Football Dreams: The Academy (6×60’) and Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams (3×60’).
