Battle for Britney spreads round world

A large number of buyers worldwide have picked up a one-off UK documentary about singer Britney Spears ahead of its premiere tonight on pubcaster BBC2.

The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash & a Conservatorship is presented by UK journalist Mobeen Azhar, who follows Britney Spears’ career from her roots in Louisiana to her battle with her own father over her conservatorship.

RTÉ (Ireland), streamer BBC Select (North America), Mediengruppe RTL (Germany), Network 10 (Australia), Canal+ (France), Three and Discovery NZ (New Zealand) and RTL (the Netherlands and Luxembourg), VRT (Belgium), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), Canal+ Polska (Poland), SVT (Sweden), MNET (Africa), Stod 2 (Iceland), TV+ (Turkey), OSN (Middle East), DBS (Israel), Sky Play Brazil and Go3 (The Baltics) have all acquired the 60-minute doc.

In addition, Latin American broadcaster DIRECTV has ordered the show for its channel ONDIRECTV and its streaming platform DIRECTV Go in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.

The show is produced by Laura Kaye and executive produced by Jeremy Lee. Amcomri-owned Abacus Media Rights handles distribution.
