Armoza starts Deeply Superficial relationship

Israel’s Armoza Formats has agreed a production partnership with ex-Shine France founder and CEO Thierry Lachkar and his new production company.

Thierry Lachkar

The deal, the first partnership of its kind for Armoza Formats, will see Lachkar’s prodco Deeply Superficial become the producer of Armoza’s catalogue in France.

Lachkar headed Shine’s French operations until 2016, when Endemol Shine Group unveiled plans to integrate the producer with Endemol. Previously, France had been the only territory where Endemol and Shine had continued to operate separately following the merger between the production giants and Core Media in 2014.

Endemol Shine France was launched in 2017, with Nicolas Coppermann, previously Endemol France president, heading up the group and Lachkar stepping down.

While at Shine France, Lachkar worked on French adaptations of formats such as The Voice, The Voice Kids, MasterChef, documentary Baby Boom and crime thriller The Tunnel.

Lachkar said he would work on “a vast and diversified portfolio of formats” with Armoza, adding: “Our shared passion for content together with the robust demand for well-executed content across multiple platforms and channels will bring opportunities to our partnership and the French market.”

Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, said: “We are constantly looking for new ways to provide our clients with the solutions they need in the reality of our industry.

“With Thierry’s experience and knowledge combined with our content and creativity, we look to provide French broadcasters with a unique and compelling package.”
