Argonon accelerates with Burns

UK indie Argonon has hired Accelerate Worldwide, the new venture led by former AOL Europe CEO Kate Burns, to supercharge its digital growth.

Argonon has become the first client for Kate Burns’ management consultancy, which will aim to support the firm’s digital growth by identifying strategic acquisitions or senior industry hires.

As part of its digital strategy Argonon recently hired Tom Blakeson, the Endemol exec behind The Bank Job and Million Pound Drop, and partnered with multiplatform specialists Miomni on its new online hub for its Cash in the Attic property. The firm appointed former 19 Entertainment exec Martin Lowde to oversee the latter’s development.

Burns launched Accelerate last month, alongside Nimeshh Patel, Pat Nelson, Anthony Webb and Anne Macartney. She has spent 16 years working in the digital business, most recently running AOL Europe.

“Kate is one of the industry’s trail blazers, said Argonon CEO James Burstall. “Digital and cross platform entertainment offer rich opportunities for innovation and disruptive rule-breaking and we are driving forwards with a sense of excitement.”
