Anything Goes set for Brazil

Broadcasters in Europe and Brazil are lining up their own versions of gameshow format Anything Goes following deals with distributor Shine International.

Debut productions of the French comedy entertainment show have been confirmed in Spain (Antena 3), Ukraine (1+1), Romania (Antena 1) and Brazil (Globo) – bringing the international production total to 11 versions worldwide, including the original.

The live studio entertainment show, which combines sketches and comic games, first aired on France’s TF1 as Vendredi Tout est Permis Avec Arthur. It is produced and created by Paris-based prodco Satisfaction – The Television Agency, becoming a primetime hit for TF1, with audiences of up to four million.

Launched worldwide at last year’s Mipcom, local versions have also been commissioned in China (Hunan TV), Lebanon (MTV), V (French Canada) and Denmark (TV2).

The news comes after the format’s Australian premiere on Seven on August 7, which under the title of SlideShow, reached over 2 million viewers nationally across all demographics. That series is produced by Shine Australia and overseen by CEO Mark Fennessy.

The show has also been adapted in Portugal for SIC by Shine Iberia, with a second, longer run now commissioned by the broadcaster for later this year, featuring an extra five episodes, following a successful first run.

Alex Mahon, CEO of Shine Group, said Anything Goes would be a “major focus” for the company at Mipcom in Cannes in October.
