AMC/Sundance stocks up globally

AMC/Sundance Channel Global has picked up a raft of first-run dramas for its networks across Europe, Asia and Latin America, including Rectify and Mr Selfridge.

Sundance Global Channel has taken the second season of Rectify (10×60’) from ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) and has first-window rights across all Sundance Channel territories worldwide.

The 6×60’ series is Sundance Channel’s first wholly owned drama and follows the life of a man released from death row after DNA evidence clears him of a rape and murder committed 19 years previously.

New seasons of period drama Mr Selfridge have also been picked up by Sundance Channel Global for Asia and Latin America from ITVSGE.

The channel has also taken Latin American rights to Australian spy thriller The Code, from DCD, and the second season of Danish political drama Borgen from American Video Films. Sundance also inked a deal with Endemol for Benelux rights to UK period crime series Peaky Blinders.

The channel is also taking Shine International’s award-winning drama Utopia for the region.

Chilean drama Perfidia (8×30’) has been acquired from Kevin Williams Associates to debut on Sundance Channels in Iberia in 2015, along with the second season of Prófugos (13×60’) to premiere on HBO at a later date.
