All3Media Int’l partners Two Rivers

The distribution arm of Discovery- and Liberty Global-owned All3Media has partnered with Scottish indie Two Rivers Media to support development and handle sales of new projects.

Two Rivers was previously part of Canadian media group Kew Media prior to its financial collapse in February and has been independent since then.

The new collaboration will see All3Media International support the development of a selection of new scripted and non-scripted projects from Two Rivers Media and handle rights to those titles in the global market.

The first non-scripted series to be distributed by All3 is Escape to the Chateau: Make Do & Mend, which aired on Channel 4 this year.

The four-part DIY and homecraft series sees Dick and Angel Strawbridge, who front Escape to the Chateau, offer tips and tricks for families looking for imaginative ways to solve their DIY dilemmas using what they have to hand.

Two Rivers launched in early 2019 and is led by MD Alan Clements, former director of content at STV Productions. It produces documentaries, specialist factual, formats, entertainment, factual entertainment and, most recently, drama.

In October last year, the firm hired Marcus Wilson (Luther, The A Word, Whitechapel) as head of drama, with a remit to grow the company’s scripted slate.

The appointment finalised the company’s senior creative team, which also includes Lizi Wootton (Escape to the Chateau, Food Unwrapped) as head of popular factual, Mick McAvoy (Antiques Road Trip, Dunblane: Our Story) as head of factual, Mirella Breda (Room 101, Celebrity MasterChef) as head of entertainment and Lucy Bacon (The Twinstitute, World’s Most Extraordinary Homes) as director of unscripted development.

Rachel Job

Rachel Job, senior VP of non-scripted content at All3Media International, said: “I had the pleasure of working with Alan in his role at STV and am delighted to join forces with him once again to expand the reach of Two Rivers Media’s exciting roster of upcoming content.

“In a short space of time, Two Rivers Media has succeeded in attracting an impressive level of investment and talent, and we’re looking forward to working with such a high-calibre team in what will be a truly collaborative relationship.”

Clements added: “Establishing strong strategic alliances in the industry is a key element of realising our ambition to build Two Rivers Media into a production powerhouse. The global demand for premium UK content is greater than ever across all genres and I am delighted to say that our development slate is attracting a lot of interest from UK and international broadcasters.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved since our launch but have known for some time that we needed a strategic partner to help us accelerate our growth. It swiftly became clear that All3Media International’s extensive expertise and contacts would be the perfect fit to ensure that the projects we partner on reach their maximum potential worldwide.”
