Netflix opens Taiwan’s Green Door

Netflix has picked up global rights to Mandarin-language series Green Door, the adaptation of Taiwanese author Joseph Chen’s novel of the same title.

The show, which will become available to Netflix subscribers around the world from tomorrow, is directed by Lingo Hsieh (The Bride).

Green Door tells the story of a troubled psychologist who returns from the US to set up his own practice in Taiwan, where mysterious patients and uncanny events shed light on his murky past.

It first aired on Taiwan’s Public Television Service in February with a cast that includes Jam Hsiao, Ying-Hsuan Hsieh and Wei-Hua Lan.

The six-parter is set to join a raft of Asian shows on Netflix that the US-based streaming giant ordered late last year.
