NENT goes back to Rig 45

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has ordered a second season of original thriller series Rig 45 for its streaming service, Viaplay.

Directed by Finnish filmmaker Aku Louhimies, season two will follow on from the first run’s storyline about a murderer operating on an isolated North Sea oil rig.

The show stars Gary Lewis (Gangs of New York), Filip Berg (Black Lake), Rune Temte (Captain Marvel) and Lorcan Cranitch (The Last Kingdom). Filming is underway in Dublin, with a 2020 airdate expected.

Aku Louhimies (Unknown Soldier) is also attached to direct, while Veronika Eriksson produces for Stockholm-based Mopar Media Group. Roland Ulvselius, Ola Norén and Martin Larsson write the show, which is distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
