Chief operating officer and MD JP Bommel told C21 that there would be more buyers from Europe and the UK at January’s market compared with the 2016 event.

“We have an increasing number of buyers from overseas ready to meet with our international exhibitors and distributors,” Bommel said yesterday during a conference call.

“Our goal for 2017 is to create a unique experience for our members and attendees and offer them all of the elements that will enrich their businesses and professional careers. If a person is associated with content in any form across any platform, Natpe is the place to be.”

Bommel also announced a new membership tier, Natpe Next Gen, which has been created to service industry up-and-comers looking to enhance their careers and establish strong relationships for the future.

The new organisation will operate under the Natpe umbrella and provide exclusive access to year-round programming in the form of events, summits, workshops and screenings.

In addition, NBC News Today anchor Natalie Morales was named as host of the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards, which are presented during the event, which runs from January 17 to 19 at the Fontainebleau and Eden Roc hotel resorts in Miami Beach.

The awards gala will take place on January 18. The previously announced Tartikoff Award recipients are Susanne Daniels, Randy Falco, Eva Longoria, Josh Sapan, Dana Walden and Gary Newman.

Natpe will also offer a Master Class Series across all tracks featuring top names in the business, including Grammy-wining music producer Emilio Estefan.
